As Michael Miller puts it in Wildfowl Decoys of California…“One of the more inventive and prolific carvers in the San Francisco Bay area (Newark, CA) was Jake Ferreira” and I couldn’t agree more. All of his pintail are unique in posture. This example circa 1930s in dry original paint has an appealing snuggle-head posture. Hollow carved and measures 13.5” in length. Head is attached and somewhat loose.
