Archie Ginocchio Redhead Drake

Super rare species for this early California maker, Archie Ginocchio (San Pablo, CA) ca. 1920s. On page 226 of Wildfowl Decoys of California, Michael Miller states Ginocchio’s rig of 100 decoys consited of canvasbacks, scaup and a few pintails. This is the only redhead known. Species is identified with the grey bill and yellow glass eyes. The diamond G brand representing the family’s cattle brand, is stamped on the back. Paint is a mix of original and old in use repaint. Measures 13” in length. The right eye is missing.
