Dick Thedens

Pintail Drake

This unique, hollow carved, pintail drake was found on a farm near Othello, WA in 1976. The rig consisted of very stylish pintail, wigeon, teal and mallard. Said to have been made by Dick Thedens of Ellensburg, WA. I suspect these to be C. 1960's. The example measures 26". This example is in the feeding posture with the tip of the bill slightly below the water line. The sprig tail is removable. The bottom indicates they were once weighted for use.
