A very nice drake mallard by the Mason Decoy Company of Detroit Michigan.  Good all original paint with a small area of professional tail chip repair.  See Goldberger and Haid's excellent reference, Mason Decoys, A Complete Pictorial Guide.  The bottom tag indicates it as coming from the Jim Foote collection.  The bottom weight has been removed.  Price: $6000

A nice example for the California or factory decoy collector...An original paint hen pintail by the Wright Decoy Company of Berkeley, CA, circa 1940's.  Bottom of this one has been overpainted while the rest is in original paint.  This factory is discussed on page 262 of Wildfowl Decoys of the Pacific Coast by Miller and Hanson and on page 403 of Ken Trayers excellent reference, North American Factory Decoys.  Price: $300

Hays Original Hen Mallard

An excellent all original paint hen mallard by the J.M. Hays Wood Products Company (Jefferson City, Missouri), circa 1920's.  Branded on the back: "1950 Lake Murry".  I believe Lake Murry is located in South Carolina.  Neck putty has a poor replacement.  This is a very lightly used decoy in excellent condition.  Very difficult to find in this model and condition.  Price: $500.
